Prayer & Scripture for the day

When I Need to Be Delivered from Fear

Dear Lord, I am sometimes afraid of what might happen in the future. I submit all my fears to You and thank You that You will take them from me. I lift up to You my greatest fear and ask that You would give me Your peace in place of that fear. When troubling things happen to me or around me, help me to remember that You are on my side and will fight for me. If You are for me, then no one can ever succeed against me. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen!

You must not fear them, for the LORD your God Himself fights for you.’
Deuteronomy 3:22 (NKJV)

Word for Today

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessings on your offspring;
Isaiah 44:3 (NKJV)

I will pour water on him who is thirsty, I will pour floods upon the dry ground!
God has got exactly what you need.
God has got plenty of His divine blessings to meet your need.
If you are thirsty and dry, He has living water for you.
Give Him your need today.

Song : 'Reach out and touch the Lord as He passes by.
You will find He's not too busy to hear your heart's cry.
He's passing by this moment, your need to supply.
So, reach out and touch the Lord as He passes by.'

Word for Today

"Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace;
Thereby good will come to you.
Job 22:21(NKJV)

Acquaint now yourself with God [submit to Him] and be at peace; by that you shall prosper and great good shall come to you.
When we submit ourselves to God great things can happen!
The light of God's favour can shine upon us.
Then we can be at peace. The results will even surprise you!

PRAYER : Lord, I submit myself to You. I entrust my life into Your hands. Fill my life with peace and bring forth something wonderful from my life, I pray in Jesus' name, Amen!

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV)

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

gaining strength

by : regina franklin

After 20 years in youth ministry, my husband has weathered his fair share of injuries on the job. Most recently, he was involved in a competitive outdoor game when he twisted his foot. Playing through the pain, he conceded to his injury only after winning the contest. He limped to a nearby place to sit down and carefully remove his sock, only to see his ankle quickly swelling past the size of an orange. A trip to the hospital revealed it wasn’t broken, but he soon realized it would take time before his foot could bear weight once again.

Pain often serves as a reminder of our limitations. To those of us who pride ourselves on our independence and feel most comfortable being in control, we don’t relish the pain when it reminds us we’re vulnerable. Instead of admitting our need, we “play through the pain,” if not to convince ourselves then to assure others that we can handle whatever comes our way. No one likes to feel weak.

The whole crux of the gospel, however, rests on our desperate need and the insufficiency of our own resources. Pride keeps us from admitting our needs, much less our failures. But until we’re willing to deal with those things, we cut ourselves off from the fullness of the power of Christ in our lives.

Strength for the believer looks far different than what the world professes. “[Jesus] gave up His divine privileges . . . and was born as a human being”

Philippians 2:7 (NKJV) -but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
in the greatest show of power the heavens have ever witnessed

2 Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV) - For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.

We gain strength when we see difficulties—and our weaknesses—as a means for His power to be at work in us.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NKJV) - And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

It’s the difference between limping and running.

Isaiah 40:29-31 (NKJV) - He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

2 Corinthians 12:1-10 (NKJV)
The Vision of Paradise
 1 It is doubtless not profitable for me to boast. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord:
2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—
4 how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 5 Of such a one I will boast; yet of myself I will not boast, except in my infirmities.
6 For though I might desire to boast, I will not be a fool; for I will speak the truth. But I refrain, lest anyone should think of me above what he sees me to be or hears from me.
The Thorn in the Flesh
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure.
8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.
9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Isaiah 35 (NKJV)
The Future Glory of Zion
1 The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2 It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the LORD, The excellency of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “ Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, And it shall be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, But it shall be for others. Whoever walks the road, although a fool, Shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, Nor shall any ravenous beast go up on it; It shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

How does the world’s definition of strength differ from the one found in the Word of God? In what areas of life have you been limping on an old wound rather than admitting your weakness and hurt to the Lord?
